Review: Encouraging the Heart: A Leader's Guide to Rewarding and
Recognizing Others
(Book)

This is not one of those fluffy, "feel-good" books that are so prevalent on the market today. It addresses a much-neglected and much-needed segment of leadership… dealing with what I call the human factor. In short, it makes the business case for managers to also be human beings and recognize the humanity of those whom they lead. While other books on leadership make glancing reference to motivating people, Encouraging the Heart actually provides you with tips on how to do it successfully. Techie motivation is often stimulated in ways that differ from those used in Sales, Marketing, and other functional areas. This text provides suggestions for rewarding and recognizing your people that you may not have considered previously.
